Amid tensions along the Ladakh border, China is not interested in any kind of war, said President Xi Jinping.
The Chinese president made the remarks at the UN General Assembly in an indirect message to India on Tuesday.
The Chinese president's speech to the United Nations comes at a time when tensions are running high in the region along the Line of Actual Control in eastern Ladakh. Both sides have mobilized troops for fear of clashes.Xi Jinping said, cold or hot, no fight we want to fight. China is the largest developing country in the world committed to peaceful, open, cooperative and general development. We are never in favor of domination, expansion or influence.
The two countries' air bases are also ready to deal with any situation due to border tensions. Tensions in Ladakh have not abated even after multiple meetings between the two countries at various levels, from diplomatic to military. In the talks, both sides talked about withdrawing troops, but China did not keep it in the end. Although the army has moved to only a few places, it has been seen to have increased elsewhere. As a result, tensions have not changed much in the months leading up to the Galwan conflict in eastern Ladakh.
Tensions on the border have been high since the Chinese invasion of Ladakh last June. The armies of the two countries have been involved in minor clashes more than once. 20 Indian soldiers lost their lives in the conflict.
